We left the house this day expecting to tour the Hurst Castle but unfortunately when we got there all the tickets for tours were sold for the day!! Bummer, but the day was not a loss on the way to the castle we saw BEAUTIFUL scenery. Along with the beautiful scenery came some treacherous driving but it was beautiful!! We also got to see Elephant seals basking in the sun on the beach! They are heap BIG animals! WOW! The kids enjoyed the fat chipmunk very accustomed to people that would come up to them! The wind surfers were neat to see. I thought it was crazy with how cold that water must be though! Right near the entry to Hurst Castle is a park with a very long pier going out into the water and also beach access. It would have been the perfect place for a picnic but we were not prepared for that but be did enjoy the pier. On the down side of this trip Ross got big time car sick twice. He ended the journey in nothing but pull-ups (yes, he's potty trained but his undies got soaked with vomit!) and a jacket and socks and shoes! I had brought one change of clothing for him knowing he is prone to car sickness. The positive of this is we found out those motion sickness wrist bands really work. We picked some up at a pharmacy!!
