Bump in the Night

Every once in awhile during the night there would be BUMP that was a mystery. The kids would be checked on and would all be fine but no clue of the sound. It is not unusual for us to hear animals during the night. Last night we could hear the elk bugle so we look out our window and sure enough they were in our yard (probably about 40 of them walked through over time) and one was close enough to Annalina's window to reach out and touch it! We went and got the kids up and for about and hour sat in the dark up to a window that goes just about down to the ground and the elk would walk up to the window and look in!!! Even a bull elk walked up to the window and looked in and bumped his nose to the window and we were right there! SOOOOOO cool!!! We had such a blast. Well, we may have figured out the bumps we hear . . . one of the elk made a loud bump against the house!

Babe and I thought it was so cute that after Ross heard the elk sounds he referred to it as them "yawning". The kids got to hear the elk bugle for the first time last night and that was super exciting to them.

Anyway, we had a great time enjoying the things that go BUMP in the night!
