Amazing Baby!!

What makes this video AMAZING is that I did NOT show him how to do this (obviously he's been watching me) or ask him to do this! By the time I got to the kitchen he had already emptied the silverware out of the dishwasher and put it in the silverware drawer AND shut the drawer!!! It was obvious he had done it and not the other kids because the silverware was just randomly thrown in there since he can't see high enough to know where to put it!

He was putting the other items on the island which is the only place he could reach beside the silverware drawer! Eventually, when the other kids came to watch they would move the plates, cups, etc. back further on the counter so he would have space to put more! He ended up emptying the whole dishwasher except for one pot and some sippee cup stoppers!! After that I put a chair up to the counter and he crawled up and handed me the dishes as I put them away from the counter!! I know I am biased but that is one amazing 18 month old! :-)

He is so funny because he isn't into toys very much except for ones he perceives as "grown up" like his toy vacuum, cell phone, toy guns, toy swords, etc. In fact, he is so often pulling out the broom that we bought him a child sized broom for Christmas!

What a blessing our children can be when they work along side of us in our daily tasks. They learn what we do and know at a young age what is valuable.

How neat that he did this all on his own. So far, Arrie is very much into the "big boy" or grown up type toys, too. He wants to be just like us. I imagine this comes with being the youngest and observing parents and much older siblings.

Thanks for sharing this sweet moment in your day!

with love,
Heather Marie

This was so cute to watch! It's awesome that he's already a big helper. By the way, with his new haircut, he looks like Ross from the back and I sometimes forget who I'm looking at.:) It looks great on him.
