Cast our nets and knitted hats

Last night in devotions we read the story about the Simon the fishermen and how Jesus told them (after he had asked that they take him out on the Genneseret or Galilee) that they go fishing again. The men were hesitant but did it because it was Jesus. They caught, of course, the catch of their lifetime and Simon said something to the effect that he had doubted and was not worthy of Jesus. I could see Gabriel reacting to what was going on. The other night he had been quite naughty and after he went to bad he called to me and said "I am a pile of junk" Hmmm, that was an interesting thing to say . . . then he said "the junk is sin". I reminded him that he just needed to pray and confess it to have all right again. I could hear him start to pray and it was done. Anyway, I say that to say that like Simon he was sensitive concerning his sin and not measuring up to Christ. Ok, back to the story  . . . anyway Jesus says to Simon something to the effect of he had a job for him and that was casting his net. Gabriel said "I don't understand". I explained that the people around us that are unsaved are like fish and we are to be "fishers of men" and tell others about Jesus. What a great ending for Gabriel and for us all Jesus uses SINNERS!!!!! Anyway, we prayed and Gabriel asked God that he would help us cast our nets. What a tender heart.

Just a few days ago the lady across the street that has children in the same school as Gabriel said to me "You really have a sweet son he is a good kid." She has told me before that she thought he was so sweet and he is.

Yesterday, I went to pick up the kids from school and saw Annalina in a VERY CUTE knitted hat someone had obviously hand made. I asked her what she was wearing  . . . wondering if there was some confusion and she said "Wilhemmina's mom made it for me!" Hmm, that sounded curious and I said "Did Whilhemina give it to you or her mom?" Annalina replied "Her Mom". I said "What did she say to you when she gave it to you?" Annalina ". . . that since I like cute hats she made this one for me". Today I ran into "Wilhemina's mom" and she told me she made it for her!!!! It is an absolutely ADORABLE hat that sticks straight up into the air with a pompom on top! She said now she has to make one for her daughters!!! This kindness I found quite touching. Annalina LOVES, LOVES the hat and said to me "I love that hat it is dorable". It will go with her collection of keepsake winter hats from Germany, Scotland, Norway, Peru, one Aunt Kim made, and now this one. Some people are so kind hearted and this lady is one of them. Annalina is thrilled with this hat and she knows that lady made it just for her.
