Made My Day
Tonight at church Brian preached (our pastor is out of town) and Gabriel played the piano (O How I Love Jesus) for the offertory. What really made my day though was after Brian had preached for awhile Gabriel turned to me and had a HUGE smile on his face and said "He is a GREAT preacher!" then about 10 minutes later he said "this is the stuff I love." Speaking about what he was preaching about. Gabriel was THRILLED with his Daddy. Ross didn't say anything but sat glued to watching his Daddy. I loved seeing that and hearing Gabriel so proud of his Daddy!!!!

Just Cute
On Sunday I was helping Annalina with her hair before church and I was curious why she didn't bring me a hair band to pull her hair up on the sides and then hide it with a flower clip. She told me seriously . . . "I want my golden rays to be down . . . I'm the only one who has them!" I had to laugh. Thankful that I have a little girl! (She is the first girl born in Brian's branch of the family in 100 years!) She reminded me of Anne of Green Gables MAJORLY! Love it.
One of my nicknames for Carson is "my Scrumpcious". I asked him one day if he was my Scrumpcious and he told me no, that he was now "a big boy". I asked him again a few days ago and again he informed me about 3 times that he was now a "big boy". I asked him who would be my Scrumptious and he said (let's PRETEND we were naming the baby Johnny) he said "Johnny be!" I thought that was sweet he was giving up his special title to his little brother.

Annalina Learns to Ice Skate!
After school this past Monday we went to an ice hockey rink to meet up with Annalina's friend. Her friend K taught her how to skate and she caught on sooooo quickly and she really enjoyed it!! I found the figure skates at Goodwill for her. NICE!
From what I understand the rink we went to is kept open by a former professional hockey player that moved up to this area and he pays to keep the rink maintained and it is FREE to the public! I thought that was pretty nice of that athlete! The video was taken by Annalina's friend's brother and he is a nice kid it just doesn't come across in the video at least patience doesn't come across:-)

Gabriel's Homeschooling Group Play
Gabriel's homeschooling class put on a little production of various skits from Aesop's Fables. Gabriel played an ant, squirrel, and a wolf. I did not do a great job of picture taking or videoing. The clip above I missed his speaking part as the wolf. This skit was about "the boy who cried wolf". It is just funny to watch though even if I didn't get his speaking part!
Corrie Ten Boom
I recently finished reading Corrie Ten Boom Heroine of Haarlem by Sam Wellman to the kids. This was a great book. There was just a few things they put in the story near the beginning that I considered unnecessary and inappropriate but once past those . . . what a story! I was impressed with the parenting of the Ten Boom seniors who raised Corrie and her siblings with such a strong faith and strong love for others! Corrie's sister Betsie was just a rock of faith.
This book also brought up Christian ethics questions. Gabriel called different relatives about
"What do you think about lying during time of war?" He got mixed answers and good things to think about. Within the Ten Boom family there was disagreement as to if lying to the Nazis was correct or not.
The Ten Boom's whole hearted dependance on God and His Word was moving. The kids will eventually read The Hiding Place. I don't have it in our library yet.
