Bible Club had an interesting location . . . and a new member!

I heard something going on in the laundry room the other morning. Bible club had the company of Sonja that morning!!! Pretty funny!!! I think Sonja enjoyed it!!

I didn't blog Ross's funny yet. Every weekday morning at breakfast we read the Proverb of the day. I had warned the boys (in NON DETAILED way!) about when they grow up being cautious of bad ladies using the warning in Proverbs. Babe called me a few weeks ago as he was out shopping with Ross and Ross said "Bad ladies are fooz (fools) I don't want to be around bad ladies!" Babe and I thought that was sooooo funny!

Sub Club--Bible Club

Awhile back the kids came up with their own club and called it Sub Club because they found a paper with those words on it which I think was an advertisement for Subway! Babe and I thought that was so cute and funny. Anyway, their club was kind of similar to AWANA club. They would say verses to each other, etc. Recently, they formed a new club which really I don't think they have formerly named yet. Gabriel reads a Bible story, a passage of Scripture, maybe a game time, and the other day they did a craft out of pipe cleaner to make the the shape of "E" for Elijah which was who their Bible story was about!

Gabriel did such a wonderful job reading to the others and running it. He came to me just before he was going to read the Bible and he thought the chapter was to long and he said "I'll just break it up it parts till we finish it" he started reading and had Ross repeat the phrase he had just read then continued and when he got to the part of creation where God said "Let there be light" I heard Gabriel say "Isn't that amazing!" He continued on and explained God dividing the firmament. He did a better job than I would have done. Ross didn't make it through the whole thing but Annalina did. Gabriel took it so seriously and wanted to teach them. I was pleased to see his knowledge of Scripture and his heart to share it. I got some clips of the Bible Club session on video.

Big Boy Carson is Almost 9 Months!

Little Carson isn't so little anymore! Carson is almost 9 months old and is enjoying his new found freedom to explore by crawling! He is sweeter than sweet.

Are you willing . . .

Are you willing . . .
by Henry Van Dyke

To stoop down and consider the needs
and desires of little children;

To remember the weakness and loneliness
of people who are growing old;

To stop asking how much your friends love you,
and ask yourself whether you love them enough;

To bear in mind the things that other people
have to bear in their hearts;

To trim your lamp so that it will give more light
and less smoke,
and carry it in front so that your shadow will fall behind you;

To make a grave for your ugly thoughts
and a garden for your kindly feeling,
with the gate open?

Are you willing to do these things for a day?

Then you can keep Christmas . . .

After all, Christmas-living is the best kind of Christmas-giving.

Wow, when I read this poem it REALLY spoke to me and some of those are great challenges to me. It came from a book called If You're Missing Baby Jesus (A True Story that Embraces the Spirit of Chrismas) by Jean Gietzen. I had wanted to read it to the kids this Christmas and I didn't get it done. I still might just read it to them even though Christmas is done.

Making Doughnuts with Daddy

When Babe was deployed last year the kids and I started talking about the possibility of making doughnuts with daddy with a fry daddy. (We have to have our Saturday morning doughnuts!) We got the fry daddy in the fall and during Christmas break finially got around to making them! It took A LOT of time . . . more than what is reasonable for little kids eager to eat them to wait but the process was fun and we talked of maybe buying bread dough and starting at that point, which would shave off a lot of the waiting time!! The kids enjoyed it. Gabriel did find my substitute for bavarian creme filled doughnuts not the best substitute! I used vanilla pudding!!!! Hmm, maybe search the internet for a recipe. Anyway, the mission was accomplished! I LOVED the onion rings Babe made in the fryer. I'd love to try those onion rings on a juicy cheeseburger!

The Lone Cypress on 17 Mile Drive

These are pictures by the #1 photographed tree in the world, "The Lone Cypress". As you can see Carson wasn't impressed!

Aunti Flo also came on the beautiful drive with us and the kids enjoyed that!

17 Mile Drive

We went on the famous 17 Mile Drive by the Pebble Beach Golf Course. Babe and I took this drive on our honeymoon so it brought back good memories. The kids really enjoyed exploring the beach and seeing the "Lone Cypress" which is what the emblem of Pebble Beach Golf Course is after. It is the #1 photographed tree in the world!!!

There were THOUSANDS of hermit crabs to watch and play with! We even caught a regular crab and I am pretty sure we found shrimp! It was so fun!! We are going to have to go exploring like that again!

Carson started crawling today!!!!!

Carson started crawling this afternoon we were all so excited!! He is 8 months 10 days old. Gabriel was getting him to practice tonight by putting the jack-in-the-box he got for Christmas and then playing the music and getting it to jump out and then Carson would crawl to it.

Pretty funny in the nursery today at church there was a little girl in there just 4 days different in age from Carson and her name was Abigail Johnson!! What a coincidence!! I thought that was so funny.
